Telecom minister inaugurates the Victory Festival of Computer City
On the golden jubilee of independence, on the first day of the month of Victory, the month-long 'Bijay Utsab-2021' (Victory Festival), a month-long technology product, started at Computer City Center (Multiplan), the largest IT market in the country, on New Elephant Road. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mostafa Jabbar inaugurated the month-long festival by joining the fair premises virtually.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said, “Our computer traders are now delivering computer products or services in Digital Bangladesh. I thank Computer City Center. I once again thank those who are delivering computer products and services across the country. Thanks to the services rendered by the merchants even in this Corona pandemic. Let this computer festival of victory spread across the country and be successful.”
"We will enter into the 5G era on December 12," he added. Many companies including Samsung and Nokia have started working in Bangladesh. We are now exporting many technology products including computer from Bangladesh. We need not wait till 2041 to become a developed country.
The keynote speaker at the event was Dhaka District Commander (Bangladesh Liberation Force (BLF) and former MP Mostafa Mohsin Montu, who emphasized the cyber security issues and said, information technology will bring benefits to the nation only when it is used for the welfare of the people.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the convener of the event and President of Computer City Center Tawfiq Ehesan. In his speech, Tawfiq Ehesan said, “The fully air-conditioned Computer City Center has already gained recognition as the largest IT shopping mall in Southeast Asia. Not only that, this market is also a trusted name for technology products buyers across the country for its quality and competitive price in technology products.
Digital Bangladesh's progress and marketing of state-of-the-art information technology products and exhibitions will be organized in this victory celebration. Our goal is to bring information technology to people from all walks of life and from door to door, and to increase the use of information technology products, including computers, at a massive rate.”
